The official University of Maryland Part-Time Program
Fall 2006
BUSI 101 - Statistics for
Stastics Majors So, you want to go to business school, huh? Well, you're going to need to learn about some basic statistics such as t-tests and regression analysis. And, since you're in this program, you're going to learn about statistics that you will never need to know, unless you happen to be enrolled in the concurrent Statistics Ph.D. program. You'll learn about Convolution and Deevolution, Homoscedasticity, and the History of Pi...whether you like it or not. Prerequisites: Five years of linear algebra and a Master's Degree in Math or Stastics. |
BUSI 203 - Cases in
Leadership Business leaders each bring a unique management style to their organization. This class will compare and contrast some of industry's most innovating and exciting leaders including Rupert Murdoch (CEO of News Corp), Ken Lay (CEO of Enron), and Mayor McCheese (CEO of McDonald's). No textbooks are required, but you will need to spend $386 on the course packet, which is primarily comprised of articles photocopied from Business Week magazine. Prerequisites: $386 and no sense of right and wrong.

BUSI 204 - The Economics of
India The U.S. is the number one economic power in the world, but that's not what this class is about. You won't learn anything about the history, culture, or economics of India, but I am going to base all of our cases, examples, problems, tests, and class discussion on my native country. This course will have a participation grade so I strongly encourage you to talk as much as possible in each lecture, even if your comments or observations don't add any value. Please note that this is a four hour class but since your classmates will be talking so much, you should plan on staying for at least five hours. Prerequisites: A willingness to talk until you run out of oxygen. Pack a snack if listening to your classmates talk for five hours makes you hungry. |
